1. General information
1.1. By entering this competition, valid entries received by TrustedHousesitters Limited (“TrustedHousesitters”) in accordance with these Terms and Conditions have an opportunity to win:
1 x first place prize:
A dream vacation: Make your dream trip a reality with $5000 worth of vouchers towards flights and accommodation.
A year’s worth of pet food vouchers (up to the value of $1,000): Or, opt to donate the equivalent amount to your pet charity of choice.
Five-year TrustedHousesitters Premium Combined membership: Enjoy unlimited home and pet care and unlimited sits with a free five-year Premium Combined membership plan (RRP $399/£329 per year).
3 x Runners-up prizes:
One-year TrustedHousesitters Standard membership: A year of unlimited sits (as a sitter) or unlimited pet care (as a pet parent) with a free Standard annual membership plan.
$100 donation to an animal charity of your choice: Choose the animal charity closest to your heart, and we'll make a $100 donation on your behalf.
1.2. There will be up to 4 prize winners, consisting of one first place prize winner and three runners-up.
1.3. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter this competition. Internet access is required to enter the competition so data charges may apply. TrustedHousesitters shall not be responsible for any data charges or other costs which an entrant may incur in connection with entering this competition.
1.4. The competition will start on 28/08/2024 and will close on 18/09/2024 at 11.59pm (BST). Only entries received by TrustedHousesitters during this time will be valid. All entries will be judged manually and the winner will be selected by a panel consisting of One representative from TrustedHousesitters and two independent third parties from the pet care industry.
2. The organiser of this competition
2.1. The organiser of the competition is TrustedHousesitters Ltd.

2.2. This competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Meta, X or any other social media platform.
3. Who can enter
3.1. Each entrant can enter up to three submissions, for three different pets - any entries thereafter will be disqualified
3.2. The competition is open to any individual that is:
(a) aged 21 years and over;
(b) not an employee of TrustedHousesitters or an immediate family member of such employees.
3.3. All entrants must comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, and these Terms and Conditions.
3.4. TrustedHousesitters reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who, in its reasonable opinion has:
(a) tampered with, or disrupted, this competition;
(b) breached these Terms and Conditions; or
(c) otherwise attempted to do any of the items listed in paragraphs 3.3(a) to 3.3(b) above.
4. How to enter.
4.1. To enter the competition an entrant needs to:
(a) Fill in the competition entry box and press enter
(b) The entrant must submit the following information when entering:
- An image/video capturing nominated pet in their happiest moments
- Information relating to pet including name, species and location
- Tell us why your pet should be recognized as the world’s happiest pet, including any heartwarming anecdotes or background information about your pet and what makes them the happiest on earth.
- Pet owner’s information will also be provided upon entry
- One photo or video should be entered.
4.2 Everyone who is identifiable in the image/video must have consented to their image and likeness to be entered in this competition and comfortable with the Ts & Cs, including the photo being shared by TrustedHousesitters on social media. The entrant takes full responsibility for ensuring there is no infringement on third-party privacy or other rights.
4.3 Images containing personally identifiable information, including but not limited to home address and religious symbols, as well as children under the age of 18 and branding belonging to a brand other than TrustedHousesitters will be ineligible for entry.
4.4 If the pet does not belong to the entrant, the entrant must seek the owner's prior written permission before entering the competition.
4.5 No synthetic or artificially generated images or videos will be accepted. The content of the image or video must not be altered by adding, rearranging, reversing, distorting or removing people and/or objects from within the frame. Entry photos or videos that have been edited, altered, modified, or manipulated to falsify the appearance of the pet will be ineligible for entry.
4.6 Participation is only possible on one’s own behalf and joint submissions are not allowed. There is a restriction on one entry per person per competition. Bulk entries or entries from third parties, agencies or consumer groups will not be accepted.
5. Winning and publicity
5.1. The winners will be announced and contacted directly by email in the days following close of the competition. The winners will have up to 7 days to claim the prize after this first communication
5.2. The winners will have to provide additional information and may be required to provide additional documents to TrustedHousesitters within a specified time. This includes but is not limited to a brief discussion with TrustedHousesitters to ensure pet welfare before the final announcement.
5.3. The winners should allow up to 28 days for delivery of the prize (calculated from the date that the winner provides all information requested by TrustedHousesitters). The prize will be sent digitally to the winners - no postal address is required
5.4. A winner will be disqualified as a winner if:
(a) that person fails to contact TrustedHousesitters with the time frame specified in paragraph 5.1;
(b) that person fails to provide such additional information and documents and send them to TrustedHousesitters within the required time frame;
(c) any notification is returned as undeliverable as addressed; or
(d) that person has, in TrustedHousesitters reasonable opinion, breached these Terms and Conditions.
5.5. If a winner is disqualified, TrustedHousesitters will select an alternative winner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
5.6. The winners agree to participate in publicity or advertising accompanying or resulting from this competition without additional remuneration.
6. Use of an entrant’s information
6.1. By entering the competition, each entrant:
(a) grants TrustedHousesitters permission to use the entrant’s name and likeness to organise and/or manage this competition;
(b) accepts that an entrant’s entry will become the property of TrustedHousesitters upon receipt and will not be returned to the entrant;
(c) acknowledges and agrees that TrustedHousesitters and its licensees have the right, free of charge, to use an entrant’s competition entry for its marketing purposes including publishing an entry on the internet in connection with TrustedHousesitters businesses (including, but not limited to its websites, Facebook, YouTube, X, blogs, Pinterest, Instagram and press releases).
(d) waives any moral rights or similar rights the entrant has in the competition entry whether such rights arise pursuant to the Copyright, Designs and Patent Act 1988 or equivalent legislation anywhere in the world; and
(e) warrants and represents to TrustedHousesitters that their competition entry is wholly original to the entrant and not wholly or substantially copied from any other material and that it does not defame, cause injury to or invade the privacy of or otherwise infringe or violate any statutory, common law, regulatory or intellectual property rights of any third party.
6.2. An entrant’s personal information will never be sold to external companies.
7. Data Protection
7.1 By submitting an entry, entrants agree to provide their personal information which will be used and disclosed by TrustedHousesitters and its authorised agents for the purposes of competition administration and prize fulfillment. Email addresses will be collected for the THS CRM database. Personal information collected by TrustedHousesitters is subject to TrustedHousesitters’ Privacy Policy at: https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/privacy-policy/
7.2 The winner agrees to allow TrustedHousesitters to use their first name and/or surname, social handle (if provided), imagery, story and city/country of residence to announce the winner of the prize on TrustedHousesitters’ social media platforms. The winner may object to their names or country of residence being published or request for the amount of information being published to be reduced.
8. TrustedHousesitters rights and exclusion of liabilities
8.1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the liability of any party for personal injury or death caused by negligence or for anything else which cannot be excluded or limited by law.
8.2. Subject to paragraph 8.1, each entrant agrees that neither TrustedHousesitters nor any of their employees, agents or subcontractors shall be responsible or liable for:
(a) any incorrect, inaccurate or faulty or failed electronic data transmissions; and/or
(b) any communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilised in any aspect of the competition; and/or
(c) any inaccessibility or unavailability of all or any part of the Internet, Facebook, or any combination thereof; and/or
(d) any system failures of all or part of Facebook; and/or
(e) the failure of any third party to fulfil any of its obligations in relation to the competition, although TrustedHousesitters will always endeavour to minimise the effect of any such failure; and/or
(f) any postponement or cancellation of the competition; and/or
(g) any change to the Prize; and/or
(h) any act or default of any third-party suppliers.
8.3. TrustedHousesitters reserves the right to amend at any time, time periods and notification dates to the extent legally permissible should circumstances make this necessary or to cancel this competition before the closing date.
8.4. If the competition is cancelled for any reason, TrustedHousesitters shall not be held liable by virtue of that cancellation.
8.4 In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of TrustedHousesitters, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error (human or technical) affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the awarding of prizes, TrustedHousesitters reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms and conditions at any stage, but will endeavor to minimise the effect to entrants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
8.5. TrustedHousesitters decision is final and binding in all matters in connection with this competition and no correspondence will be entered.
9. The prizes
9.1. There is no cash alternative to the prizes. However, TrustedHousesitters reserves the right to substitute the advertised prize or any part of the prize for a prize equivalent or greater in monetary value should this be necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
9.2. The prize only includes what is expressly stated to be part of the prize and it is non-transferable (unless otherwise agreed in writing by TrustedHousesitters). The prize is valid for one year upon purchase.
9.3 All prizes listed in 1.1 are in US Dollars. Vouchers and/or donations can be provided in AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, NZD or USD. The currency value will be converted from the USD value at the exchange rate on the day of purchase of voucher or donation of funds to charity.
9.4 Winners are responsible for any tax liability they incur as a result of accepting a prize. Winners are encouraged to seek independent financial advice before accepting a prize if the tax implications concern them.
9.5 Winners are responsible for obtaining, both for themselves and any guests, any insurance cover which is required or advisable in order to enjoy their prize. Where a prize involves overseas travel, in addition to obtaining travel insurance, winners are responsible for obtaining, both for themselves and any guests, any necessary visas or clearances, and for obtaining health advice in relation to the travel destination.
10. Applicable law
10.1. If any of these Terms and Conditions are deemed to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, the affected provision(s) shall be deleted from these Terms and Conditions but the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
10.2. This competition and disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with it shall be construed in accordance with English Law.
10.3. By entering this competition, all entrants agree that the Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claims that arise out of or in connection with this competition.
