Cats Protection cares for abandoned, unwanted and neglected cats and kittens, providing them with food, shelter and veterinary treatment they need until they are able to find them loving new homes. In the last 90 years, they have rehomed over 1.5 million cats and kittens and championed the rights of cats. They also tackle the challenging issue of controlling the population of unwanted cats in the UK through their neutering work, as well as promoting the importance of good cat welfare through their campaigning and education programmes.
In 2018, they rehomed and reunited 44,000 cats and kittens through their nationwide network of over 250 volunteer-led branches and 36 centres. That’s a lot of cats and kittens!
Cats Protection has many schemes to help and enrich the lives of cat owners. For example, their Cat Guardians scheme. Cat Guardians is a free service aimed at giving peace of mind to cat owners concerned about what might happen if they were to pass away before their cat.
Sponsoring one of their cat pens is one of the best ways people can help, providing cats with shelter, warmth, food, medical care and the love they need.
As Cats Protection receives no government funding they rely on the kindness of their wonderful supporters to ensure their vital work can continue.
