What's the best way to get around Christchurch? There are so many choices! On the Avon River, you can take a ride on a traditional, English-style punt, the flat-bottomed boats steered with long poles. This is a great way to relax and enjoy the views while you're house in Christchurch. Another fun way to get around is on the Christchurch Tram. These restored vintage trams can be used for transportation, but also double as heritage tours of the city. Book a day ticket and hop on and off as much as you like while you explore the downtown area. You'll notice many of the buildings that were impacted by the 2016 earthquake. In particular, watch out for the Cardboard Cathedral, a remarkable temporary structure that has some of the most interesting design work you'll see in the city.
