Questions about pet and dog sitting

No, unlike other platforms, our sitters sit for love, not money. After paying an annual membership, no money changes hands between our members.

It’s a win-win situation. Sitters exchange their love and care for a stay in your home and the chance to make new furry friends. While pet parents can travel with peace of mind, knowing their pets are loved and cared for.
Our sitters love all kinds of homes and locations. For them, it’s less about grand accommodation and more about staying in real homes and living like a local.

They prefer cosy homes where they can embed themselves in the local community, spend time with adorable pets and make special travel memories.

So as long as your home is clean, tidy and welcoming, our sitters would love to stay.
The first thing to do is to register for free. Once you’re registered, you can explore our platform and decide which membership plan is right for you. We offer three annual memberships – Basic, Standard and Premium.

After you’ve chosen and paid for your membership, you can create your listing. This is your chance to describe your home and pets, and add the dates you’ll be away.

As soon as your listing is live, pet sitters can apply. You can browse their applications and shortlist the ones you think are right. You also have the option to invite sitters directly.

We recommend meeting face-to-face or via video call before confirming the sit to make sure it’s a good match for your home and pets.
Most pet parents confirm a sitter within a day. But this can vary depending on your location and the level of detail you’ve shared in your listing.

For extra peace of mind, our Standard and Premium Pet Parent memberships include a Money Back Promise. Which means if you don’t find a sitter within 14 days, we’ll refund you.
We know arranging to have a pet sitter in your home for the first time may seem daunting. But we do everything in our power to keep all our members safe:

Verified by us
We do background and/or ID checks, ask for external references and verify email addresses and phone numbers.

Verified by others
After a sit, our pet parents rate and review their sitter and give honest feedback.

Verified by you
You can screen sitters before you commit by meeting them face-to-face or via a video call.
Our Home and Contents Plan covers you for up to $1 million against property damage, theft and sitter accidents. This is included in our Standard and Premium Pet Parent memberships.

Premium Pet Parent members also benefit from our Sit Cancellation Plan that protects you in case your sitter cancels.

And lastly, our Standard and Premium Pet Parent memberships include a Money Back Promise. Which means if you don’t find a sitter within 14 days, we’ll refund you.
When you arrange a pet sitter through TrustedHousesitters, you only pay for your annual membership – no other money changes hands.

Like you, our pet sitters pay an annual fee to join our community and use our platform. They don’t get paid or charge for their services.

They do it because they love pets and travel. So in exchange for a place to stay, they’ll look after your pets and take care of your home while you’re away.

If you book a sitter who isn’t part of our community, the average cost of pet sitting in Norfolk is £1.25 per hour, £50.00 per week for 40 hours or £162.50 per month for 130 hours.

Unlike traditional pet sitting services, our members pet sitting in Norfolk (and beyond) are here for the love of pets and travel. Yup, pet sitting is their hobby, and looking after beloved animals brings purpose (and lots of fun!) to their travel experiences.

Some are retired and pet sitting full time, while others work remotely and enjoy pet sitting from time to time - living in a home from home in a new location, with fur babies for company.

Connecting with our members dog sitting in Norfolk is simple - just be sure to share your puppy’s needs in your listing, and discuss them with potential sitters before confirming.

Whether you need your sitter to aid training, socialisation, or ensure your dog feels comfortable and safe while you’re out of town, you’ll find a pet lover here who’s experienced in all of your dog’s care needs.

Here at TrustedHousesitters, furry family members get to stay in the comfort of their own home while their humans are away, in the hands of a pet lover who’s exchanging nothing more but pet care and a place to stay.

Many traditional pet boarding services uproot fur babies from their own home, and are often looked after alongside other animals unfamiliar to them. While pet parents here pay one annual membership fee for access to unlimited sitters, boarding services often charge per night, which certainly adds up over a year of pet care.
