We found Lannie and Chris through mindahome.com. This was the first time we used a housesitting website as our previous house sitters have been friends of the family, so we were a bit nervous. We had a good response to our advert but decided to interview Lannie and Chris via Skype and we seemed to get on and quickly reach an understanding on what was expected on both sides. They seemed honest and open and genuinely interested in doing the best job they could. They came with excellent references too. We have not been disappointed. We needed someone to look after our large property set in 2 acres for 6 month whilst we are overseas. We have no animals to look after but there was a lot of tradesman to consider and deliveries to be taken care of. Lannie and Chris are a mature young couple who are not easily fazed. Lannie , who although works from home in the arts industry, is also extremely practical andlevel headed when it comes to dealing with anything in the home, from freezer repairs to sorting out the internet or heating. Whilst we were away we have had plumbers, electricians, BT, landscape gardeners, all come to work on the property and also people who provide regular maintenance for us for gardening, house and pool maintenance Lannie and Chris have engaged with all these people with utmost care, and have provided all the necessary feedback to us, so we have been able to relax knowing that the work is being carried out with no problems. The house was kept clean and tidy. Chris and Lannie are very easy to get on with to the extent that they ended up providing guardianship to my oldest son who is in his final year of boarding school. He was very grateful as it meant that he could go ‘home’ as opposed to going to a relative on weekend leave. My older children also got on with them as well as they are good fun and we had a lovely meal all together when we were back for a couple of days. We would highly recommend Chris and Lannie as hardworking, honest and reliable house sitters!
