I’ve known Peter since 1978 when he came to work at a school in Sussex where my late husband was headteacher. In 1980 went to Australia as an exchange teacher under The league for the Excange of Commonwealth Teachers scheme. He returned after a year but almost immediately went back to Australia to work, after teaching in Paris for 18 months. During his time in Australia, Eric,my late husband, and I kept in touch him. We became firm friends. We had two cats at the time and Peter, clearly an animal lover, made a great fuss of them. After 13 years in Australia and a very successful career there, he returned to work in Sussex until moving permanently to France in 2010. During this time Peter house-sat for us on several occasions. He now comes to stay with me once or twice a year and he’s helped me out by looking after my house and he has also helped with some gardening. I have no hesitation in recommending Peter as a trustworthy and conscientious house-sitter. He is reliable, honest and very adaptable, always remaining calm in challenging situations.
