Katherine was a Long Term Care Administrator for many years. Her love of animals and the notion that for many residents/patients, pet therapy was essential to health, was a theme she emphasized throughout her tenure there. She worked closely with a pet therapy association to adopt a resident cat for all to enjoy and that lovely cat is still in the home to this day promoting health for residents and staff. Katherine also brought her own kittens into the home on many occasions creating a kitten room, as well as accommodating visits and longer stays for farm animals and other pets like birds/fish/rabbits so there always seemed to be opportunities to have special animals in that care-giving environment. Safety and infection control issues were properly addressed and on the radar for Katherine and she was an excellent troubleshooter and advocate for those types of issues. As an aside, Katherine is a great gardener and always had an office with many interesting and well cared for plants. I would recommend Katherine for any house/pet sit as she is a competent and caring nurse.
