We have known Ken and Laureen for several years, throughout which, their love of animals has been obvious. We have had Ken and Laureen look after our pets on numerous occasions including when our puppy was very young and required lots of attention and training. Our dog is always excited to see them and we feel confident leaving our dog with them knowing that not only will he have a good time, but he will also have his training reinforced. We also are happy to know that our dog receives ample walks and play time as Ken and Laureen love the outdoors. They are very responsive to our pet’s needs, taking time to get to know all aspects of them (previously we had another dog, Dax, which they have cared for too). They formed strong bonds with both dogs. Recently, they did a week-long house sit at our 16-acre hobby farm, looking after our very exuberant and very large golden retriever puppy, Fenrir; our cat, Shrimpy; and, some yard work (watering the garden and new trees in the orchard). The house and yard were in perfect shape upon our return, with the house being cleaner than when we left and the deck plants deadheaded (after Laureen thoughtfully asked to ensure that we weren’t seed-saving). In addition to pet/plant care, we felt comfortable knowing that Ken was around as he’s proven to be very capable of dealing with any maintenance jobs that may come to his attention. On top of all that, Laureen left a batch of home-baked banana chocolate chip muffins in the freezer which was a nice treat upon arrival home. Their own house is clean and well-maintained. Neither of them smoke. They are good communicators, letting us know how things are going with our pets. Whenever we’ve requested for photos/videos of the pets they responded quickly. We never worry about our pets when they are with them. We are happy to recommend them as caring and responsible house/pet sitters.
