1. Amelia Earhart Dog Park, Miami

On the eastern side of Amelia Earhart Park is five acres of space for fenced-in fun on all fours! There’s room for dogs to play fetch, run around, and chase squirrels to their heart’s content, and if that’s not enough, a variety of obstacle equipment can be found dotted throughout the park. There’s a separate area for small breeds that prefer not to play with their bigger buddies and free parking on weekdays - the only downside is that you’ll have to pay $7 to park on the weekend.

2. Coconut Grove Dog Park, Miami

Take a stroll through David T. Kennedy Park with your furry friend on the leash before letting them loose to test out their agility skills at Coconut Grove Dog Park, otherwise known as Kennedy Dog Park. With ramps, tunnels, and hoops to jump through, plus separate sections for dogs under 25 pounds, what more could your four-pawed pal ask for? Fill up a bowl of water from the fountain for Fido and grab yourself a frozen lemonade from the truck nearby before you kick back on one of the shaded benches to keep an eye on your fur baby.

3. South Pointe Park, Miami

Pooch pals are welcome on the leash at this waterfront park, but the designated doggy area for leash-free fun can be found on the western side. Head here for an epic sunrise or sunset, or simply soak in views of the open water as your four-pawed pal has a woof-worthy time making new furry friends. Please be aware that this dog park isn’t fenced in so your fur baby must be on their best behavior and respond well to voice commands before being let off the leash.

4. Blanche Park, Miami

This might not be the biggest Miami dog park, but there’s still enough space for a four-legged workout! The artificial grass prevents pups from getting too mucky, and strategically placed picnic tables provide pet parents with the perfect place to watch their woofers have fun. Note that pups of all sizes play together at this dog park, and there is no area to separate large and small dogs. 

5. Margaret Pace Dog Park, Miami

This park’s well-kept and clean, and the fake grass means your four-legged friend won’t need a trip to the groomer's post-run! Separate areas keep small and large dogs from causing mischief with one another and the double gated entrance keeps Houdini hounds from escaping. Although poop bag dispensers and water fountains are often readily available, we always recommend bringing your own to avoid being caught out!

6. Tropical Park Bark Park, Miami

If you’re looking for a Miami dog park with real grass, this is the place for you! Big trees provide lots of shade in this lakeside bark park, which has loads of space for pups to let off steam. Pooch pals can play with other furry friends their size in the small and large dog areas, and agility equipment like ramps and jumping blocks keep fur babies entertained while pet parents watch from benches on the sidelines. 

7. Perrine Wayside Dog Park, Miami

This might be a little further out of your way than the other Miami dog parks, but it’s well worth a trip - there’s three acres of space for puppy playtime and even a lake for water babies to dip their paws into! Small pups have a special area to let off steam away from bigger pooch pals, and after a day of splashing, chasing, and chilling out in the shade, your mucky pup can be washed off at the showering station. 

8. Biscayne Dog-Friendly Beach, Miami

It’s important to follow proper pet-iquette when visiting any one of these South Florida dog parks. 

• Keep your fur baby up to date with vaccinations.
• Display your pup’s current rabies tag.
• Keep a watchful eye on your four-legged friend at all times.
• Clean up after yourselves and your pup.
• Don’t bring your fur baby to the park if they’re ill or in heat.
• Keep all furry friends on a leash until you’re inside the fenced area.
• Do not bring aggressive animals.
• Fill in any holes your dog digs.

Keep your canine cool

Things can get pretty hot at the dog parks in Miami, so it’s important to find ways to keep your dog cool. Provide your pup with lots of fresh water and ideally give your furry friend the chance to cool off in a dog-friendly lake or even in the sea. Avoid the hottest times of the day, stick to the shade where possible, and remember, while you might be loving the sun, your furry friend may not have the same tolerance for heat.
