La Barantine

If you're into patisserie alongside your morning coffee, La Barantine will be right up your street. The owners, Céline and Vincent previously owned a boulangerie-pâtisserie in northern France, and have since opened La Barantine in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh.

Take hand-made artisan loaves after your morning patisserie stop, and choose from a selection of quintessentially French breakfast and lunch bites. And if you thought we'd forgotten about the coffee - well this place has its very own coffee menu which, by the looks of the website looks thick, creamy and just how it should be.

Although dogs are unable to have their cups of tea, the cafe does provide designated dog bowls. It is possibly one of the most dog-friendly places in the city (without being part pet shop).
