Dog-friendly beaches, Busselton
Busselton has plenty of sandy spots where pups can sniff, splash, and let out their zoomies to their heart’s content – but there are a few rules to keep in mind.
While there’s no a specific “dog beach”, Busselton has clearly marked dog-friendly zones dotted along the coast, with some areas allowing off-leash fun and others requiring pups to stay on the leash in certain seasons. Furry friends are welcome in the following areas along the Busselton beachfront:
- From the western edge of Siesta Park Holiday Resort
- Siesta Park Groyne to Locke Drain
- Abbey Road Boat Ramp to Harnett Street Car Park
- Holgate Road to Mandalay Car Park
- Dolphin Road to Margaret Street Beach
- King Street Car Park to Western Beach
- Ford Road Car Park to Morgan Street
- Guerin Street to the water
- Port Geographe Marina Eastern Groyne to the Capel Boundary
Between December 1 and February 28, dogs are not permitted on the beaches outside of these designated zones between 9 am and 5 pm. Early mornings and evenings are fair game – and it’s open season the rest of the year.
To protect local wildlife and keep the beach safe for all, dogs are not allowed near the Busselton Jetty or the area in front of Locke Nature Reserve.
Please visit the City of Busselton website for the most up-to-date information.
