Meet Tom and Chloe - pet parents to (rather gorgeous, we must say) kitty, Cobweb. Like anyone with a furry family at home, the couple only wanted the best for their adorable feline family member. And despite living in south-west London’s Putney, the pair felt limited by the pet care out there.
On the lookout for an option that meant peace of mind while they took time out of the city, it was lucky they came across our pet-loving community when they did. Take a look below to find out why taking recommendations is sometimes your best move yet.

“We often relied on friends or Chloe’s mum to look after Cobweb, but for longer trips, we needed an alternative.”
Cat sitters are always around the corner here
Like many pet parents, Tom and Chloe were reluctant to send their fur baby to a cattery. Lonesome, cramped and often less comfortable than home, the thought of sending their beloved Cobweb for second-rate pet care while they enjoyed a vacation just didn’t sit right.
And even though they often relied on friends who lived nearby and Chloe’s mom for shorter breaks, the pair knew they needed a better option when it was time for them to take time away from the city for longer periods.
And after hearing about the great experiences of other pet parents with TrustedHousesitters, it was clear that welcoming sitters into their home to give Cobweb the TLC she deserved was the best option.
Fur babies stay happy at home with cat sitters
With the prospect of catteries out of mind and the hope of something more reliable for Cobweb, Tom and Chloe joined TrustedHousesitters in 2015, took the leap and posted their first listing.
“We loved that the sitter would step into our shoes”
Happy that Cobweb would be able to stay in her own territory and make new (human) friends from the comfort of her own home, the pair let their (50!) applications roll in.
And when their first sitter, Katie, arrived from Australia, they were relieved that Cobweb took to her immediately, putting their minds at rest for when they were to leave her at home.
“Cobweb could sleep in her own bed and get to know the sitters”
“THS has the trust element we were looking for”
Having had a great first experience with their sitter Katie, the couple (and Cobweb) were keen for the same again. With thousands of loving cat sitters to choose from, it was only a matter of time before they were jet setting once again with Cobweb content at home.
Tom and Chloe admitted they’ve ‘never struggled with finding a sitter’, and four years later, they’re still welcoming sitters into their Putney home from across the world.
