Like many of our members, Erica’s love for her pets is (nearly) equaled by the love she has for her career and time spent traveling across the world to visit friends and family.
And as a private chef whose job means jetting off on the regular, finding somebody she trusts to care for her feline family members - Callie and Piseag - is naturally of utmost importance.
Up until starting his new job, Erica’s husband was on cat-sitting duty - working from home and caring for his kitties while Erica was cheffing away. But after a change in circumstances, the pair needed a new cat care solution, and so turned to TrustedHousesitters.
Take a look below to hear more about how welcoming trusty cat sitters has allowed the pair to continue with the careers of their dreams and keep their kitties happy and purring back home.

Welcoming cat sitters means the best of both worlds
For some time, it was plain sailing for Erica, her husband and their two feline family members, Callie and Piseag.
While Erica was able to develop her career as a private chef in the UK and across Europe, her husband worked from home and made sure their kitties were safe and happy.
But as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end - at least that’s how it seemed in the beginning. Erica’s husband was offered a job he simply couldn’t turn down, and was asked to relocate to China for work.
This bittersweet move meant that the pair were left with somewhat of a cat care dilemma: take the job and settle for second-rate catteries, or stay at home and let somebody else take the role in China.
Luckily for Erica and her husband, they came across the TrustedHousesitters community just in time.
Thriving career? Check. Happy cats? Check.
After a time of uncertainty, the pair realized that by being part of a community like ours, they could - quite literally - have it all.
Erica’s husband was able to take the job and relocate to China, without sacrificing the happiness of his feline family members back home.
“There is no way that I could have managed to keep up my work/travel life without the help of [THS]”
And by opening up their home to our trusted sitters, kitties Callie and Piseag haven’t had to give up a single second of their favorite spots around their home (windowside sunbathing spot, we’re looking at you).
In fact, since joining, Erica and her husband have welcomed sitters from across the globe to give their feline friends the TLC they need.
“My sitters have come from all over the UK and from as far as New Zealand. I currently have a couple from NZ sitting from September until December.”
Careers blossom with kitties safe at home
So, with a TrustedHousesitters membership under their belt and two seriously cute kitties at home, there’s nothing stopping Erica and her husband. With thousands of loving cat sitters in the community to choose from, the pair’s careers have been to grow, without sacrificing an inch of their kitties’ contentment. (That’s their sunbathing and fence-hopping hobbies well and truly intact.)
“For us, TrustedHousesitters is the only way now”
