We know that welcoming somebody to care for your beloved furry fam can be a little (a lot?) daunting. That’s why we know reviews are so important. 

All of our members - both sitters and pet parents - have the chance to leave honest reviews. 

With our sturdy review system, others can see what like-minded others think, helping them to make the best decisions for themselves, their home and of course, their pets.

What does reviewing mean at TrustedHousesitters?

We know just how important it is for pet parents to know as much as possible about their potential sitters. That’s why all of our owners have the chance to review sitters they’ve had. 

This means that other pet parents like you can have a good read about each sitter, and find out what like-minded people have to say about their experiences with them.

Our sitters also have the chance to leave a review for pet parents - this helps everyone to make the best decisions about their next sit. 

And rest assured, we keep our system open and honest, so all of our members can read genuine, untampered reviews, every time.

How to leave a review at TrustedHousesitters

Pet parents and sitters have the opportunity to review each other within a 14-day window after a sit has ended. Pet parents simply need to:

• Log in.
• Select ‘Past sitters’.
• Find your recent sitter and select ‘Leave review’.
• Choose your star rating, leave your comments and submit.

It’s important to review within the 14-day window, otherwise it’ll be too late to share your thoughts!

Tips for leaving reviews on TrustedHousesitters

As we’ve mentioned, our reviews are completely untampered, and they should always be left according to our member guidelines, code of conduct and Terms and Conditions. 

With that said, here are a few things to consider when reviewing your sitter:

• Did your sitter complete all the tasks you asked them to, and to the standard expected? 
• Did you find your home as you left it? 
• Did your sitter communicate with you as planned?
• Did your sitter have to deal with any unexpected circumstances? How was it handled?
• Would you invite them back for another sit? Why?
• Be honest, respectful and polite.
• Stick to talking about the sit itself.

How can I trust my sitter?

It’s not just reviews that our members can read about one another. We also ask our sitters have character references completed. This gives pet parents the chance to read a rounded description of the sitter’s character, helping them to decide whether they’re right for their pets and home.

We also recommend meeting online or in person before any sit - this is a great opportunity to get to know one another, and make a good character judgement.  

Plus, we ask our members to complete ID verification checks using an official government ID. Our US members also have the chance to complete a background check, which gives pet parents extra peace of mind.
